Rachel just finished writing a book "My First Year in Kindergarten." I think the biggest surprise was at the end. She wrote "I like candy. I love mom and dad." Truth be told, I was relieved the seeding didn't go the other way.
I've always had a creative bent, with the emphasis on "bent." Or as Stephen Wright once said, "I like to skate on the other side of the ice." Another favorite quote is "If everyone is thinking the same, then somebody's not thinking." I've always written down humorous and occasionally, poignant takes on life, even moreso since I married my wonderful wife Rebecca and became a father to the folically bountiful Rachel nine months later.
Rebecca shares my sense of humor and encourages it, so she deserves some of the credit and blame for this. Rachel has opened my heart to a love so deep, it amazes me. Not a day goes by that I don't thank G-d for allowing me to be the father of such a beautiful, precocious girl with such a well-established personality and the husband of a down-to-earth, kind, smart and sometimes off-the-wall woman.
Since Rachel's birth, I've sent out periodic updates on her life and our adventures as older parents. Someone suggested I put it out in blog form, so here goes.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I will. Besides, I won't be clogging your in-box!
David
